A typical plating process at Dorset Gold Plating

                                                                         

              

                            Stage 1

Here we start with 4 bare copper tubes,dull & flat & in need of a serious machine polish to bring back the bright mirror surface which is required for a plating application.

 

 

                                                                                                                            

                           Stage 2

Here are the results after a vigerous machine polish and an ultra sonic wash,we have brought out the beauty of the copper and now have a mirror surface which can now be considered for the first stage of our plating process.

 

 

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                   

                        

                         Stage 3

Here we have nickel plated the polished copper tubes, because copper tarnishes rapidly the nickel provides the perfect undercoat & will guarantee the gold plating will remain looking bright & shiny for a very long time.

 

 

 

 

                       Final Stage

You now see the end result,here we have finally plated the tubes in an 18ct gold plate.the tubes have been truly transformed from the dull flat copper we started with.
